November KAL: Brioche

November KAL: Brioche Cowl

Tuesdays in November (6, 13, 20, 27)

Come any time between 4-7pm

Part class, part knitting group, a KAL…aka knit-a-long is a low key way to learn something new. Come once or all month long, knit for an hour or stay the whole time. Price includes pattern and help throughout the month as needed.

Brioche knitting creates a deep, squishy ribbing that is accentuated when two colors are used. It can be confusing at first, but once you get going, the results are quite satisfying! This cowl pattern is a great introduction to basic brioche knitting, without being overly complicated. We’ll also learning the German twisted cast on. Please see supply list below.

Required Skills: Casting on/off and knitting/ purling without assistance.

Helpful skills: Long tail cast on in the sling shot position , knitting in the round on circular needles. We can help with these skills if you need more practice.

2 skeins soft, worsted weight yarn in two different colors. We like using one solid and one color changing yarn.

16” circular needle size US #6 or #7

Stitch marker and a tapestry needle.

Each knitter who finishes a cowl during the month of November will be eligible for our KAL prize raffle! Yay!
