Snap Hat Class

Snap Hat Class
65.00

Saturday, November 2 | 10am- 3pm

Sign up deadline: October 29

$65 (includes 4 mini skeins of sock yarn)

Teacher: Kim Hamlin

Four strands of yarn become one in this fun project that truly does knit up in a snap! Learn to blend colors by switching out one strand of yarn at a time, while also learning the basics of knitting in the round. Pick from our selection of mini sock yarn skeins to make your own unique color combination. Will you make an ombre effect, stripes, or just stick to two colors? How ever you decide to knit your hat, the colors are sure to brighten up these ever darkening days!

New knitters are welcome to join, but we ask that you already know how to knit, purl and cast on without assistance. In addition to learning how to use four strands at once, you will also learn how to knit in the round, decrease to shape the top using double pointed needle, and add a big fluffy pom pom as the finishing touch! We will spend a portion of the first class making a gauge swatch to test colors and check your gauge.

We will be using the It’s a SNAP hat Pattern by Tin Can Knits, written for baby - adult sizes. Most knitters will have time to knit a child or adult sized hat. We are happy to help you finish your hat another time, if you are not able to complete your project during class time.

Yarn is included in the class fee, but other supplies are not. You will receive 10% off supplies purchased for this class.
