Botanical Stitch-a-Long
Saturday, April 25
10:30am-3pm
Teacher: Kim Hamlin
I’m a big fan of improvisational stitching… but sometimes, it’s hard to know where to start! For this stitch-a-long I’ll give each person a botanical outline to work with. This shape will provide a structure for you to stitch along, around, or away from. I’ll show you a few of my favorite stitches at the start of class, and guide you with ideas and prompts along the way. It’s a fun way to explore color and texture, and you might discover you’re more creative than you thought!
Our projects will be a bit smaller than those shown, so we will be able to finish during one class.
We will take a break at 12:30 to eat. Please bring a bag lunch, or plan to get something nearby!
Your class fee includes:
Embroidery needle and floss.
Cotton/linen fabric or a tea towel, with botanical design of your choosing. Feel free to bring your own fabric, or a garment to stitch on if you prefer!
5” embroidery hoop.
Instruction booklet of basic stitches.
