Paper Making Workshop | May 31

from $80.00

Saturday, May 31 | 10am-3pm

$80

Join guest teachers Diana Arcadipone & Cordelia Perry as they share their Maine Craft Association CAP Grant Master/Apprenticeship process in paper making with you!

Paper making by hand is an ancient craft that is popular among artists, crafters, bookmakers, collage artists, print makers and makers of all kinds. You will learn how to process fiber to make pulp with abaca fiber (a member of the banana plant family) and kozo fiber (for texture and variation) and form strong thin sheets suitable for a variety of uses. Some applications include window coverings, room dividers, wrapping paper, lamp shades, stationary, craft projects, décor, etc. Please bring a water-resistant apron if you have one, dish washing gloves, a towel and wear sneakers or water proof shoes.

Time will be needed after the day of class to air dry our paper, so you will not be able to bring the paper home on the same day. You’ll be able to pick up a stack of paper the next week, or we can mail it to you!
